Anna and I checked into the Manderin Oriental – Washington D.C. on Friday afternoon. We were there for a conference on blogging and the internet and I was scheduled to make the keynote speech at 7 pm that night. Naturally, after we got settled, we ordered room service – steak tartar and a case of Miller Chill – and I started work on my speech while Anna set up the PS3. Of course I had no interest in this ridiculous “conference” or a bunch of homos droning on about the internet or blogs. I accepted the offer to speak and come to this hellish backwater for one reason and one reason only, I wanted to attended the “freedom concert” scheduled to take place on Sunday night on the steps of capitol hill. My friend, the noted actor Krebs, was in town shooting a film and was interested in joining us. We both knew the concert would be terrible monument to the ugliness of human kind and we were right.
